SEALFLEX INDUSTRIES – HOW IT ALL BEGAN
Dennis Davis, President of Sealflex Industries, Inc., was first introduced to the problem of moisture in flooring back in 1980. He had gone to work for a company that claimed they had a solution to this moisture problem. However, what he discovered was they had no solution at all. During his time at this company, Dennis learned about the great need for a solution to the flooring moisture problem. Dennis went to another company, and there discovered that they had developed a product that could solve about 50% of the problem of moisture in flooring. It was after leaving this company that Dennis decided he would set out to develop the other 50% to the solution. And he did.
In 1984 Dennis began building the Membrane System in his garage at home, until the demand became so great, he needed to hire a large chemical company to manufacture his products.
Dennis's first application in October, 1984, of what is now known as the Sealflex Membrane System, was applied in the weight room and gymnasium, at Ocean View High School in Huntington Beach, California. It was two months later Dennis came-up with the name Sealflex Industries.
Dennis says that, "I was fortunate in the early years, to have had the privilege of aligning myself with the late Greg Hovivian. Greg did calcium chloride moisture tests in Southern California. It was Greg who helped me jump-start my business by recommending that my products be presented as a 'Solution to flooring moisture problems'." Dennis also began building Moisture Detection Kits (MDK's) on his kitchen counter at home, to generate sales and interest in Sealflex.
In 1992, Dennis set-up shop at his current address in Costa Mesa, California. It was here the title of the Company, Sealflex Industries, Inc. was incorporated in 1994, and Dennis has not lost his zeal for on-going development of solutions for flooring moisture problems to this day.
Dennis is proud to say that, "No one has had our experience, nor has dealt with flooring moisture problems to the extent Sealflex Industries has for these past 20 years. Dennis believed he could find, develop, or produce a moisture resistant adhesive to solve many of the flooring moisture problems and open the door to more sales. In 1997, Dennis started calling adhesive manufactures to ask if they would or could produce an adhesive that was moisture resistant under the Sealflex name. No adhesive manufacturer was interested. So Dennis set out to find a way to manufacture and produce a moisture resistant adhesive. And he did.
In the year 2000 Sealflex Industries introduced its Adhesives to the Industry at Surfaces 2000 in Las Vegas. The rest is history. We now offer the only moisture resistant adhesives up to 8 lbs with a Five Year, all-inclusive warranty.
