MOISTURE RESISTANT to 11.5 lb

Nineteen years of research, development and exhaustive field testing has proven that this membrane contains a technologically advanced moisture resistance formula not available from any other manufacturer.

This monolithic system is environmentally safe and water-based. It disperses, regulates, and controls vapor, protecting the bond integrity of modern laminated flooring. It's high quality properties create flexibility with expansion and contraction while retaining its laminate bond, alkali stability, mildew-resistant moisture disbursement and continued wet adhesion. It is the only product that has ever been specifically developed, tested and proven to reduce moisture vapor emission to safe, acceptable levels so flooring materials will not buckle, warp or release from concrete due to moisture. SealflexTM Membrane System is the leader in technology, service, price and value.

NOTE: Only Sealflex certified installers may install Sealflex Membrane System. Please contact us for certification information.

PERFORMANCE

Sealflex Membrane System is reliable and predictable in performance. This is a result of years of careful product development. Sealflex Membrane System does not replace exterior waterproofing products such as membranes, French drains and materials applied to the perimeter walls for waterproofing. A scientific test is available to specifically prove the amount of vapor emissions emitting from a concrete slab that can determine if the slab will accept or reject flooring materials prior to a floor being applied.

Test results and performance under actual use since 1984 prove Sealflex Membrane System to be the only effective long term solution to the problem of moisture vapor emission by preventing problems with applied flooring materials.

COMPOSITION and MATERIALS:
Sealflex Membrane System is a three-part applied system. The first part consists of a chemically treated fibermat sheet, 50 in. wide. The second and third parts consist of water- based acrylic polymers and resins. Sealflex Membrane System meets all V.O.C. specifications. It is non-flammable and non-toxic. No mixing of material is required.

Characteristics and uses
Sealflex Membrane System is a monolithic membrane system applied to concrete surfaces to reduce moisture emission. It is a three part applied system. Part 1 is a chemically treated fiber mat sheet. Parts 2 and 3 consist of water based acrylic polymers and resins.

Advantages
Sealflex Membrane System remains flexible and maintains its laminate bond with the expansion and contraction of the concrete slab.
Provides an insulation between concrete and flooring materials of 10° - 15° F, permitting moisture to wick-out and dissipate laterally throughout the system.
Provides an anti-fracture membrane for hard surface applications
Limitations
Indoors use on concrete only. Does not protect flooring adhesives from water from above.

Types and sizes

One system for any size floor area with moisture conditions up to 11.5 lb.

Uses and potential uses
Applied to concrete slabs to prevent finished flooring systems from delaminating due to moisture vapor emission. Can be used as a unique floor surface in itself (usually in warehouses or work areas). Forklift and auto traffic okay. Will make walking on concrete easier and safer.

Design rational
With the federal mandate that solvents and asbestos be removed from flooring adhesives, moisture related flooring failures escalated greatly. The Sealflex Membrane System was developed to give flooring contractors a surface to bond to without fear that the finished floor would delaminate, buckle, or warp due to moisture.

Rated capacity
Sealflex Membrane System is warranted for 10 years when applied by certified installers, in accordance with Sealflex specifications, to a concrete slab emitting less than 11.5 lb of moisture per 1,000 sq ft of surface per 24 hours.

Expected useful life
10 years, minimum.

Installation methods and installer requirements
Sealflex Membrane System should only be applied by certified installers who have been trained and certified onsite by Sealflex Industries, Inc.

The chemically treated fiber mat is rolled onto the prepared concrete surface. Sections of the fiber mat are butted. The base coat is applied with a roller, using pressure to penetrate through the fiber mat to the concrete, creating a bond. A special fiber mat roller is used to apply additional pressure and to roll out veins and bubbles, assuring a good bond. Dry time is approximately 3-4 hours. The finish coat is also applied with a roller. Dry time is approximately 3-4 hours.
Application time for 2300 sq ft by two men in an open area is about 8 hours for the fiber mat and base coat and about 3-4 hours for the finish coat.

Initial cost
Determined by the certified installer.

Long term cost
None beyond the initial cost.

Delivery time
Three weeks when training and certification is involved. Can be less than a week otherwise.
